Great story
Enjoyed reading this series by Stan Mitchell. Just enough suspense to keep me interested in the next installment. I liked the setting as well!

I thoroughly enjoyed books 1-3 of Danny Acuff . SO I have ordered 4,5,&6. I also enjoy the books on Nick Woods.
I chose a 5 Star rating for Take Down because it is another great book by Stan Mitchell.
I have enjoyed ALL of his books, all well written and edited.
Full disclosure, I purchased this book, did not revived it free for a review.
I read this as one book and not the installments. A small corrupt town in Tennessee, Akin, meets a vain, but sharp detective from Memphis, Danny. Good plot. I was soon drawn in, even though the main character was a little full of himself. Truth was, I was curious as to what was really going on in the mountains around Akin and kept reading. I could relate to the small town politics and understood Danny's "outsider" struggles.
Action author Stan Mitchell (the Nick Woods novels) turns his talented attention to the detective genre in this new series and does a dang good job, his writing even fresher than ever. And he continues to exhibit his knack for characterization; with no wasted words, he quickly and efficiently reveals everything we need to know about the various players.
Grab this one and you'll be successfully sucked in by the story and begging for more. Yes, it's that good--brisk, fresh, fun, and surprisingly emotional. Nick Woods may be Mitchell's bread and butter, but trust me, you'll be more than happy to make Danny Acuff's acquaintance.
